Professional profile
“Hello! My name is Glòria Mató. I am a Licensed Health Psychologist, specialising in individual psychotherapy for adults and couples therapy.
I have always felt a deep interest in and commitment to clinical psychology. I work from an integrative approach, having completed a range of postgraduate training programmes and specialist courses, including a Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology (Universidad Isabel I), a Master’s Degree in Brief Strategic Therapy (directed and partially taught by Giorgio Nardone himself), and a Master’s Degree in Sex and Couples Therapy (University of Barcelona – Institut Goma). I have also completed Levels I and II of specialist training in Trauma and EMDR through the Spanish Institute of EMDR, as well as additional complementary training.
Before specialising in these areas, during the early years of my career after qualifying as a psychologist in 2002, I worked as a therapist, laughter therapist and psychologist in psychogeriatrics, supporting both patients and their families. These experiences, together with personal experiences throughout my life, allowed me to develop valuable skills and insights that have continued to shape my professional journey. In recent years, I have worked in private practice within the healthcare sector.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and personal difficulties, including anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, low self-esteem, phobias, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, couples’ issues and life crises.
My approach to psychotherapy is based on getting to know each person genuinely and individually, so that therapy can be tailored as closely as possible to their needs. I believe it is important not only to understand what is happening, but also how each person experiences it and what they need in order to move forward. My aim is to support meaningful change while helping each person feel safer, more confident and better equipped to face life’s challenges. I consider myself a proactive, motivated and committed professional; I am continuously developing my knowledge through ongoing training and professional supervision.”
